This week we learned

Hebrew Letter of the Week:  Yud!
Yud looks like a little yarmulka. Hebrew words/names/cities that begin with Yud are:
Yadayim- hands, Yaacov, Yitzchak, Yosef, Yehuda, Yehudis, (all people that we have been discussing in connection with Parsha and Chanuka,)
Yud is the first letter of city we have been focussing on in school: Yerushalayim!

Letter of the Week: Q
To make the letter Q, we start from the top middle making a big curve and big curve. Then we make a little line on the right side to support the letter Q.

Science: This week we learned about our Hands. We learned that each hand has a name: Right hand and Left hand. Most people are Right-handed that means that are comfortable doing things like write and brush teeth with their right hand. Some people are Left-handed. They prefer the left hand over the right for everyday activities. In the class we experienced drawing with right hand and left hand. It was a great experience!

We learned that each hand has five fingers: Thumb, Pointer, Middle, Ring Finger and Little Finger (Pinky). Each finger has three bones; only one finger has two bones- thumb. Our hands are covered with skin that protects us from the dirt and germs. We also learned how to treat the skin cuts: wash the cut, put some ointment on and cover it with a bandage.
